I rebuilt my TCP stack & all and it didn't make too much of a difference.

My problem has pretty much been on Alltel's end. I'm hoping this stays the way it is but we'll see.

Im sad to hear others are having the same problems as me but glad to know Im not the only one. I've had alltel since last April/May and have been very happy with it up until 8/18/08. I have the UM150 with a cradlepoint MBR1000 router. Typical speeds were usually between 750k and 1400k, with 3 constant signal bars.

Monday I came home around 4pm est, got on the net, and everything seemed normal for about 15 mins. Everything started pretty fast, did a speed test and was around 1300 but then it dropped suddenly to the point zero pages would load. Checked the modem and the statues light as rotating from 4 bars to 3 bars down to none and repeating. I tried restarting the modem/router several times with no luck. Unplugged the UM150 from the router and tried it connected directly to two different lap tops, still wouldnt work. I know sometimes there are network issues, so I gave it a day to see if it worked itself out. Tried it again yesterday after work and still same thing. So I called tech support, told them what I had done. They said it wasnt a problem on there end so it must be a bad modem. So I took it back to the alltel store for a new one. Hooked that up and it did work but at terrible speeds. I have four bars, full signal strength (which I never had b4) but speeds range from 120k-140k now compared to the previous 750k-1400k. Speed when I actually download something is around 14k, which isnt a lot higher than dial up and definitely not worth $60 a month.

I appreciate any suggestions for help, Im gonna call tech support when I get off today and keep calling till something is done. Sad part, I had kept my wildblue account for a couple months just in case alltel didnt turn out to be that good and just dropped the wildblue at the end of July... Sad

Im having the same issues im in cleveland, ohio which should be a major market. Ive had alltel since feb this year and was very satisfied with the service till now. As i type this my connection is dormant...I thought it was a software issue so i reinstalled and called tech support with no luck. Oh btw tech support could not help me, i had to play around with it after beign on the phone with ADVANCED support for over an hour. Im not happy service should improve not get worse with bigger company/network. Looking into sprint right now.

Soon as the verizon and alltel deal is approved I'm dropping my contract (you don't have to pay termination fee once merger happens).

I'm done with this crap. I'm switching services for my cell phone and internet. This is just absurd and unacceptable.

If they're working on the network then that's fine, but sh*t give us some damn info so we don't have to sit around being pissed off and left in the dark.

You can get a phone plan with 10 my circle, 1400 minutes, unlimited text, then for 10 dollars more you can get unlimited data. Total? $70

JUST unlimited data with aircard? $60

They're screwing me and everyone else with a freaken aircard. So I went in asking if I can get a phone plan with my aircard plan.. nope.. that'll be another 50 a month. SCREW YOU!

So forget it.. done with alltel and verizon. Gonna get me a freaken iphone and hop on att.

Oh, this is complete bullshit.

Not only has my signal still been dropped by about 4 dBm, it just dropped another steady 2dBm tonight. Download speed bursts are about half what they used to be - when I'm not losing packets. It seems they make these changes on the weekend.

I don't know how long I can put up with this sh*t.

Exactly it's like they're doing all their work on weekends. Makes no sense and it's frustrating.

Today has been hell. Trying to video chat.. BAM! Freaken 1x "Video Session Closed". This is getting ridiculous. My satellite is performing better and the only reason I hadn't canceled my satellite is I was iffy about this whole wireless crap to begin with. 1 second delay is better then no internet. 1x isn't even usable. Half the web pages I visit won't even load and takes 100 refreshes.

I'm sick of this crap and hope I can figure out a way to get out of the contract. It's a complete waste of my money. I'm going to be contacting them soon and demand a month credited to my account, because this is just bullshit. I understand upgrading the network, but for a freaken month I've been getting kicked off the damn tower without a reason.

I've had it with them. Here's my recent e-mail. I'm done with this crap.

I've replaced my modem. Tested it on multiple computers. I even drove right near the tower. Same exact results each time. Great signal booted to 1x. The network keeps kicking me off and I'm not paying for this.

Don't fix what isn't broken. So stop screwing with my service. I've had MAYBE 4 days of this MONTH that I've been able to actually enjoy more then 10 minutes of the EVDO connection I should be getting. I am not paying for this crap. There is no excuse for this other then your own doing. I've done tweaks. I've done all the crap your customer support has asked of me and nothing worked. Stop trying to pin your problems on the customers.

I apologize for the rudeness, but I feel it's my only course of action to get you people to stop walking all over me. I'm not paying 60 a month for worse then dial-up (dial-up will actually load pages).

This is my last friendly reminder. I will call 1 more time if this message isn't answered in a fashion that I determine acceptable. Afterwords I will get my demands met through the BBB and you can deal with them.

I'll get out of this or I'll get the time credited to my account. They can either choose the easy path or I'll cause them a lot of trouble. I'm not paying for their screw ups. That's not MY problem.

Well.. It quit starting up today...Only getting 4kbps!!! After talking to tech support for an hour...They decided to swap air cards and try again!! Working perfectly right now. Time will tell.... Rolling Eyes Sorry, I had something else to say about the card. They said that there info was old on the card I had...I thought they were talking about the PRL code but they were changing something on the computer itself. Something like AX60 from RX???I can't remember the old code now...Wonder if this is some kind of Like a prl code??Does this make any since to any of you??? I don't remember anything like that before. Maybe someone here at 3G store could enlighten us as to what this code is for???? My card is the UL150AL. PRL 40036. Maybe this is something that would help the others here??? Hope!!!! Rolling Eyes

Sounds like a billing code because it does not sound like a model of data card/modem sold. How long have you had your data card plan?

I don't know. My internet is working ok so far this morning, but it likely won't last. I just stopped using the stupid Axcess program as for some reason my connection seams worse with it. I just dial directly now and have it set to redial if connection is lost.

I'm going to call today if it messes up and rip someone a new one. Really tired of paying 60 a month and for about 20 days of that week not really being able to use it. They need to test their network code before pushing it to live. I'm still going to call and demand a month credit from last months screw ups.
