I just bought the MBR 1000 and I'm having the same exact trouble with my UM 150 and WoW. I'm connected directly to my PC with an ethernet cable with no other devices connected to the router. However when I plug my UM150 directly into the PC, I can play WoW perfectly fine, ping is average with no lag at all even in peak hours in cities. When I'm using the router I will get huge lag spikes and then time out. My OS is Vista, and I haven't tried the command that was posted yet. I've done speedtests at speakeasy with it plugged into the router and into PC, both are fairly consistent and also download speeds and general browsing are the same.

It appears that is issue is occurring with people who do not have a CTR/MBR/Etc. A quick search on Google (!!!) turned up this message, which appears to have a solution linked in the messages also:

(Spam trigger was filtered, I assume you can copy and paste)

Reading through there it seems to be intermittent too. Sometimes it affects people, sometimes not.

I can't duplicate this problem with Verizon on a CradlePoint router, so I'm going with they may aggravate this problem, but they don't seem to be the cause.

I am having the problem with the um150 and the mbr1000 . I am running Windows XP. I only use Ethernet cable and I turn the wireless off. Again the UM150 works fine connected to the pc.

This is the post I was talking about. I realize it doesn't specifically say it is for the UM150, but it does appear that Windows, Blizzard and Alltel service don't jive together. It may be worth a try to see if this fixes your issue:

Q u o t e:
THIS POST IS RELEVANT TO WINDOWS XP AND WINDOWS VISTA USERS

For late comers to this thread who are reluctant to scroll through this massive thread I'll quote a few relevant posts:

Now,

Type "regedit" in windows "run.." dialog to bring up registry menu

Then find:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\

There will be multiple NIC interfaces listed in there, find the one you use to connect to the internet, there will be several interfaces listed (they have long names like {7DBA6DCA-FFE8-4002-A28F-4D2B57AE8383}. Click each one, the right one will have lots of settings in it and you will see your machines IP address listed there somewhere. Right-click in the right hand pane and add a new DWORD value, name it TcpAckFrequency, then right click the entry and click Modify and assign a value of 1.

you can change it back to 2 (default) at a later stage if it affects your other TCP application performance. it tells windows how many TCP packets to wait before sending ACK. if the value is 1, windows will send ACK every time it receives a TCP package.

2 - TCPNoDelay
This one is usually pretty simple (see note)

Details: (technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/library/e6491291-872e-4260-8ced-77525b0d79a51033.mspx?mfr=true")

You should install the Microsoft Message Queuing Service. To do this go:

START > SETTINGS > CONTROL PANEL

Open up ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS

click ADD/REMOVE WINDOWS COMPONENTS

Scroll down the list that appears, and TICK the entry MESSAGE QUEUING and click NEXT. Message Queuing will now be installed. Once done its probably a good idea to restart. Once thats done then add the registry entry below

Type "regedit" in windows "run.." dialog to bring up registry menu

Then find:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSMQ\Parameters

Right-click in the right hand pane and add a new DWORD value, name it TCPNoDelay, then right click the entry and click Modify and assign a value of 1.

Click Ok and close the registry editor, then reboot your PC.

To get the MSMQ thing to show up in registry in Vista I went to control panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows features on or off, then I had to go through and click all the boxes inside the Message Queue Server until they were checked (and not blue-filled).

I'm not sure the message queue service thing is necessary but I did it anyway.

I am re-posting this because Blizzard's nagle solution is ineffective for me. Disabling these registry fixes today saw my latency shoot back up to 300 from the regular 100 ms I was seeing for weeks.

I got the same results as aac02. I done everything they mentioned, I didn't get disconnected this time, but my latency is always over 3k+ and ever so often it will completely freeze, like I was timing out, then after awhile things will start moving again like it finally caught up. It's unplayable as it is.

aac02, there is a reason why you can't type that brand name into this forum, and if you continue to work around it, we'll take action.

don't let it get that far.

be sure ALL posts comply with the rules of EVDOforums.com, and remember that unlike many other public forums, EVDOforums is privately owned by 3gstore.com and employs personnel to administer it.

we thank you for your cooperation.

Alex,

I find it very ironic that you delete my post when I was only trying to suggest another brand of router that would work for people who are having problems with the UM150 + MBR1000 (KR2). I do not hear anyone else suggesting a fix for this. My post also said a lot of great things about these routers, but if a consumer is paying $200+ for a router that will not work for thier specific needs, and the only response seems to be "wait unitl Cradlepoint finds a fix for the problem" after many months, I guess I do not really see the harm in mentioning an alternative product (albeit one you do not sell or support).

I originally was not going to post a response this, as I understand that ultimately this is your site, and your rules, and to suggest a product that you will not make money from may not be the best decision (although it is still good customer service). What did make me respond however, is seeing a post up about people saying that they can buy the same brand of routers you sell at Best Buy (or as another person said for a lot less money on other sites) and that is ok.

So let me get this straight. I cannot post about another brand of router where I mentioned nothing other than it worked for me (after trying one of yours), but it is ok to tell people where they can specifically buy the same brand name routers you sell elsewhere (and sometimes much cheaper)?

It's easier to contend with another store with the same product than another store that doesn't. You're at least comparing apples to apples and not apples to oranges. As long as the talk is still about CradlePoint routers then 3gstore can still sell their major points.

+Best tech support (comparable or greater than CradlePoints)
+Better product warranty
+Works closely with CradlePoint
+Quick response time
+No Tax

-More expensive
-Shipping

aac02,

Can you pm me the brand of Router that you can not talk about on here.
I am tired of waiting for Cradlepoint to fix this problem. I have had my mbr1000 router for 6 months and have not been able to use it because of the disconnect from WoW problem.
Thanks
