Well after using nothing but national access 2 bars, I was on the internet two nights ago and my signal went up to full broadband access on my phone and internet, but it only lasted about 20 minutes. Were they just testing the tower or what cause my service went back down. How long does it take them to get it up and running. I drove down there and it looks to be all done, they even have the fence put up around it.

Thanks.

usually means there getting ready for it, they had verizon towers up and running, up where i live, but no evdo, verizon told us (i work for a walmart connection center that sells verizon phones) that the most of the towers were equiped with evdo technology, but had to wait for rights and licences to use it in each area, it it was just a mater of flicking a switch.

From my experience when a tower start giving off an ev or evdo signal. It take anywere from 3-6 months before evdo is fully active in the area.

You will see EV-DO Rev. A pop up when the Field Techs/Cell Techs/System Performance individuals are performing their tests. Generally they will redirect Rev. A down to 1x/Rev. 0 when they are completed. VzW typically does not turn up EV-DO until they can bring the entire cluster (remove redirect) in 1-2 evenings.
