Is this a joke, or what? What organization/company would use only 40MB per month?

I'll answer the question by saying you are not breaking a 'law' by using the service with an 'unapproved router'.
you will be violating verizon's terms of service, and if caught, they can terminate your account.
nobody i know of has ever had their account terminated because of router use. |

Sprint is more flexible with mobile broadband because they don't have landline access into homes but want to compete in that space. They'll probably never have 5GB limits or router limits since they want to behave as close as they can to landline ISPs.
Verizon/ATT have to consider their mobile broadband may compete with their own landline services.

Plus they would have some very ticked off custies on their necks. They cannot afford to lose any more.
Bottom line is that with sharing a single connection, is that as long as you do NOT resell the service, you will be fine. |

| Thanks for the replies. You try to do something nice for the community - helping kids register for a baseball league online for the first time using a router and Verizon service (a basic form - no video, streaming, etc) to a very limited set of laptops (less than 7) at a remote location, and now I'm all in a panic because I think I'm doing something wrong. |

There are some businesses who use this type of service at locations where they only need to submit a very small amount of data to a corporate database at the end of the day. EX: Sales report for that day etc. |

Well, in my experience with Verizon is horrific! We inquired on service for a house we were considering and was told Oh Sure service is available! Well, having to put work and school on hold for them to connect us for like three weeks with constant loops in trying to access an human to find up what is the deal, we are finally told oh the signal is not extended there! So, I had to go out and get an air card well, their usb card was not working with my Acer Aspire 5040, so after another twelve hrs of head aches and inability to get tech support... Back to Circuit City where the kid expected me to leave my laptop for him top get on the phone with customer service as it has been an issue...sigh so opting for the PC5750 which loaded fine, and now unable to use any other devices in the house and my laptop screen is going again and now to the reason I am here!!!
I have been searching for my best bet in networking with this card and am not sure of my best bet for routers. I am looking at the Top Global MB6000 3G Phoebus Mobile Wireless Router - EVDO, HSDPA, EDGE or the 6800 version... any insight greatly appreciated looking to use two laptops and a PC as well as a printer...
Thanks!!! |

TopGlobal hasn't been doing too well for us. See our Router Report Card
if you can wait, the Kyocera KR2 will be a better router for the PC5750. Should be out in next few weeks, we're told.
OR, if you are still within 30-day trial period with verizon, you can return that PC5750, and get a USB modem and cradlepoint router, complete with superior support from EVDO Experts who actually USE these things... all from 3gstore.com ?

| OK, no problem. if i were forced to get a router for a PC5750 today, it would not be the topglobals. i would get the linksys router from 3gstore, to get their support for it. |

| In my research all I was finding where the Top global when I tried looking at Linksy I could only find one that supported Sprint network connections, so I am open to options if any others are about. |

| For the link as I was looking for the Linksy due to being familiar with them and was disapointed when I thought I was outta luck and got a fairly bad feeling towards the Top Global besides never getting a reply from them when I inquired on some specs. |

"technically", the linksys router is a sprint-branded product and neither linksys nor sprint are likely to provide you any support for your use on verizon network.
thats why i said get it from 3gstore.
we know it works with verizon pc5750 and will provide tech support you need to get it all working right, and if for some reason you can't, then our 14-day return policy backs you up.
sound good? |

| Actually if I am going to make such an investment and there is a apparently awesome item to be released soon I may have to go to the library or something for a couple weeks for school and wait out the release!! Still no idea of the cost? My interest is definately peeked in reading the report card! Thanks a million! |
