In NDIS configuration it will not appear in the Task Bar or the Notification Area. It will just connect automatically whne you put your card in. _________________ Vista64 & EX720 |

i liked the old way beter.

But...I liked it better before because it was easily available from the notification area to check signal strength (without taking up valuable space on the taskbar). |

That is the main reason that i switched back to the one before. I liked it minimizing to the right not at the bottom. _________________ Peace

|
|
Hi:
Dell Precision M90 notebook/Windows XP 32-bit/Novatel EX720 ExpressCard/SCM 1.10.0023
The software works, except when I change the HA using ##DATA and try to connect, every time I get an error 67, meaning that my username/password (most likely password) combination is invalid. I'm positive the password is correct. Perhaps Sprint has locked up this capability in this version of the software? Any help is appreciated.

I was able to successfully install the connection manager, however every time I open it I get a dialog box about a new PRL being available and do I want to update it. I have a PX500
I say yes and then nothing happens. The dialog box disappears and the connection manager window is active. No update happens.
Also, in the connection manager if I look in the options under the mobile tab, all the options to update the PRL, firmware etc. are greyed out. Is that normal?
Thirdly, when I do Tools->Update software it says that there is a firmware update available. If I say update automatically a new window opens with a progress bar, but no progress ever occurs. If I do advanced, it won't download the firmware it just keeps immediately saying download fails.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Dave |

up and running on 1.x.23
seems to be working fairly well, do not like the fact that icon stays in the task bar unless you close it and it never appears in the notification area.
I also am seeing really improved speeds, significant... but you know how that stuff can vary. _________________ -brig XP / 595U |

I am running vista basic and tethered to a Centro. I downloaded the phone as a modem USB version and it failed. It would indicate connecting --> connected --> disconnecting --> disconnected and just loop through this cycle.
Level 2 tech support (2 hour call) determined it was either the handset or the laptop, all the provisioning was correct on their end.....they even "re-built" the services and I reinstalled/downloaded the program from scratch. Same results.
I installed PDAnet based on other recommendations and instantly, consistently connect with ease tethering at 1100kbps. Go figure. |

I have had Sprint EVDO working for about 6 months with no problems, very few dropped connections, etc. Now 2 updates in a period or time, and connectivity is extremely unreliable.
I have a 595U modem on a PC acting as an ICS gateway for my home network. No problems using 1.00.0069.
Now with same hardware and this new software, my SCM will drop the connection, show a 0 signal level and display the message that "No Modem Device Detected".
SO far the only fix for the condition I have found is rebooting the PC. Then it will work normally until it drops again, which could be a couple of days or 15 minutes.
I am working on trying to fall back to the old code, but when I try, the older SCM won't maintain a connection longer than 2-3 minutes, and then drops and then re-connects, and then repeats over and over. I am thinking new firmware was uploaded to the 595U modem and may be causing a compatibility issue.
I am back at 1.10.0023.0 for now so I can use the connection at all- but I am looking for a solution real soon, before the wife tosses me and the computers out. |

I have been have trouble with bytemobile optimization client in the New SCM. It will not stay running & shuts itself off after a few minutes or instantly. The only way to get it to start again is to disconnect & then re-connect.
Know why this is happening ?
I had trouble with the New SCM also, frequent disconnect's. etc..... I left the old (original) SCM alone, then installed the New SCM on top of it, & Have not had 1 single problem/issue since then. Hope this help's. |

have you tried just using dialup connection in windows? just set it to not ask for password or username and dial number #777 it will act as a normal dialup connection and you can still share it this way |

| My SCN had indicated there were two firmware updates available for the PX-500 series, it downloaded and flashed the first firmware successfully indicated by ascending chimes from the card. The SCN indicates the second one is still waiting but then it contradicts itself by reporting there is no update needed for it. I'm going to uninstall then reinstall the SCN and see what happens then. |

I say yes and then nothing happens. | I'd change to Tools>Settings>Update Settings>Manual. That will eliminate the constant reminders. Perhaps after a restart or two, you can then do a manual update at Tools>Settings>Update Settings>Update Now. Incidentally, it appears you need to be in RAS mode (Dial-up) rather then NDIS (Lan or High Speed Internet) to do manual updates.
As for the Perl, try it manually as per www.evdoforums.com/thread7898-11.html . Corolada indicates 60611 is the latest and it seems to run well. _________________ Vista64 & EX720 |

I just unplug the usb cable (595U) and stuff it back in and it finds it. _________________ -brig XP / 595U |
