Oh, and I would like to see some sort of bacon cooker or popcorn maker integrated into the CTR500 to utilize all the heat it produces.

Apologies for the rant in advance...

I wanted to enable logins. Of course there is all the stupid "Do you want to lose the changes" when I clicked Don't save - or the same annoyance "You have unsaved changes".

COULD I GET A BUTTON ON THESE PAGES THAT WON'T ASK ME AM I SURE ABOUT EVERY STUPID TRIVIAL CLICK !!! ???

So I enable it. And have to type my password. Fortunately, I get to the page I wanted, not the bounce page. Well, not quite. I get a screen asking if I want it to remember the computer. I will nearly always want to but I don't have that option. And IT POPS UP ANOTHER DIALOG BOX ASKING IF I WANT TO CHAT. NO! CAN I DISABLE CHAT AND THESE STUPID CHAT PROMPTS?

NO. NEVER. I WANT A S-I-M-P-L-E ROUTER, NOT A CHATROOM, VIDEO GAME, OR WHATEVER ELSE. I WISH THEY WOULD FIX ALL THIS JUNK INSTEAD OF ADDING 5-sigma features like GPS. I still can't bookmark or use history to go to an admin page.

Why is fixing the stupid Javascript navigation nightmare so much harder than adding complex new features?

Fortunately, I rarely have to access the administration pages. When I do, it is a nightmare.

And even this "remember me" on the logins. Where is the list of "remembered" computers? I can't find it. How do I clear or remove one? There is nothing in the onboard help. It isn't in the mac filter, or DHCP, or access control.

tz1 - have you tried looking under the Status->Wireless page? In 2.2.1 it allows you to remember or forget wireless clients, but if that feature annoys you so much and you have WPA2 security turned on, just turn off the login feature all together, Basic->Wireless->Require User Login

For load balancing, the ability to set a proxy to a port on the MBR-1000 that would direct traffic to a given modem.

My MBR1K has been great. My U727 Sprint modem runs flawlessly through it.

I thought this would be a good time to post some enhancements that I keep wondering if Cradlepoint could provide for me with a future firmware update.
Here goes:

1. Give me an ongoing log of usage that could be a floating Java applet (multi-platform compatible). As it is now, I must use the U727 with Sprint application to see connect time and Sprint website for totals (lagged at that).
a) I enter in my billing date into the MBR1K router and router/applet keeps track of usage totals for that month, year-to-date, etc.
b) I would like an activity/totals add-on to Firefox or IExplorer that would at least give me Down/Up 'light' indications (like in the old days of a modem parked next to my PC).
c) Applet could also show signal strength in dBm, just like Sprint application does but with addition of remote ##DEBUG/##RTN availability too.

2. Local bandwidth throttling. I'd also like to know the usage totals for each PC that accesses U727 modem from router. If a particular PC Downloads items too quickly, it throttles down. If that same PC uses too much bandwidth during a pre-determined period of time (setup at router) it can be automatically cut off from U727 by the MBR1K.

3. Provide separate IP address and password (side door) into MBR1K that would revert MBR1K to a previous Saved state without doing a full reset.
Perhaps increasing MBR1K's memory so several self-saving choices could exist there for me to choose. Schedule Rules could reference these saved states that could do some pretty large and sophisticated global filtering.
Also, with more memory, several versions of firmware could exist in the MBR to choose from (through side door and 192.168....) that would also contain related previous setups. These 'pairs' of files could be run from HTML instead of pushing buttons and resetting MBR itself.

4. Please consolidate MBR Gateway HTML setup screens by reducing the number of Tabbed row choices and leftside column names.
Many of us already know that the MBR is quite advanced. There is little need to give me so many 'Advanced' choices. Just put them together somewhere. I don't need several areas that are for WiFi, just put it all there and I'll figure it out. Same with filtering of all kinds. Put the simple stuff at the top then let me work myself down to the complex stuff.

5. Please put Help functionality either within the area of working screens or give me floating contextual help. I don't want to hunt down Help in a separate screen anymore.
There are missing Help topics that seemed to get omitted during additions of setup functions, Please Help!

6. Make all LAN ports run from 10BT up to Gigabit speed. 100BT is going to be old hat, soon.

7. My U727 modem has a memory slot in it that I would like to 'see' on the network as a drive. Using an unused USB port on MBR with any kind of USB drive could give me networked OS or large networked drive and internet available repository for iTunes Music Folder and other data files/partitions.

8. Make MBR1K so it can use Vonage V-Phone USB plug. This way, any PC of mine can make and receive calls from router, not just each PC with plug installed.
This way, I could possibly access Vonage over internet wan side/VPN without carrying dedicated hardware to be restricted to local or only LAN PC's.

How is the modem rebooting a router issue? Also, have you contacted Cradlepoint or 3GStore about the issue?

Better yet, they should repost this poll with other features. A lot of features on the list are now available. Smile

+1. Even a rudimentary usage meter in NVRAM or something so I can see how much data I'm using a month.

The feature that I want involves Cradlepoint hurrying up and releasing a new firmware upgrade already. I've had an MBR1000 for over a month now that I've yet to use because it doesn't support my Alltel UM175. I guess I'm gonna have to end up seeing if Alltel would still allow me to swap air cards if I ever plan to use this router.
