| I failed to mention something important. The UM175 & VZ Access Manager works on my Desktop computer. It's just my Sony VAIO laptop that I have this issue with. |

| On your VZAccess Manager, go to tools>preferences and check NDIS mode. On your Internet Explorer, go to tools>internet options>connections tab and make sure that "never dial a connection is checked off." For IE6 and below, go to File and make sure work offline is not checked. For IE7 and up, go to tools and make sure work offline is not checked. If still not working, unistall/reinstall VZAM. |

I had a very similar issue with my Verizon UM175. It worked perfectly on my husband's Mac, but not at all on my 1.5 year old Lenovo laptop running XPpro.
I have spent HOURS with increasing levels of technical gurus at both Lenovo and Verizon. We wiped and reloaded VZAccess, reset my IP stack, reset the win.soc, eliminated all 3rd party apps at startup, Verizon reset our account and keys, I tried an older system restore point... NOTHING worked.
Finally I did a google search and found this thread. All I did was follow your advice, aznHypnotix, and checked that NDIS box in VZAccess. Voila!
This is something that the Verizon techs SHOULD have known. Good grief!
Then I turned off VZAccess and unplugged the UM175 and tried it again and now it doesn't work. Any clue as to what went wrong? It just says it's "connecting" but does nothing. No error messages.
Also, I have a manual connection set up for the UM175 in Network Connections which does not work either; gives Error 720. *sigh* |
