Am I the only one who is getting disconnected constantly and, when I am connected, it's at half the speed that I was getting before the cap was implemented? I couldn't even download Sprint's new connection manager because my connection kept crapping out on me. Things had worked flawlessly for me up until about mid July. I've never been a chronic abuser of bandwidth either - usually between 5-6 gb/month ever since I've had the account (early this year).
Just curious if anybody else is having connection issues I guess.... |

| You might try re-activating your modem, or even doing a ##RTN Reset . |

| Things have been great for the past month or so. I now get over 1.0 down and 400 up. Not sure if that's because the bandwidth hogs are leaving or just general improvements in service. |

If you think about it...the bandwidth hogs wouldn't have left because they would have been "grandfathered" in like me, and would still be considered unlimited.... _________________ necbone |

| I just remember so many whining posts where they said they were terminating VZW or Sprint on principal due to their new policies on GB limits. You are probably right that it was probably a lot of hot air and most stayed due to the grandfather clause. |

@Peterfield - yeah, I was a contributer to some of that hot air. But for me it's either Sprint or nothing, and my situation is such now that broadband at home is a requirement.
@Torrey - I did an RTN reset, and a few initial tests have put my speed at about 750k down and 200k up (I used to get 1.2mb down and 400k up). Time will tell if this improves, and if my connection stays more stable. Beyond that, you mentioned re-activating my card. Do you have a link to a thread that describes how to do this? Thanks for the help!! |

So where is there a clause that states you are grandfathered in? Other than a few reps misinforming people, I have seen NOTHING from Sprint that says you are grandfathered in. That would defeat the entire purpose of implementing the cap. When I called in to cancel my service, the rep knew exactly what I was talking about and asked about my bandwidth usage, and agreed with me that it would be best to cancel without ETF now to avoid getting canned by Sprint in the future for exceeding the limit.
On top of that, they've already stated that they will evaluate your usage over the course of several months and if you exceed the cap in consecutive months (can't remember how many, 2 I think?), they will contact you. So, just because you've made it 12 days into the cap means nothing. |

Probably coincidence, but the connection here in Little Rock has been terrible all day. Likely network maintenance - I've seen it happen several times in the past. The connection loads half the page and then stalls out, or may not load the page at all. Some pages don't start loading for ~30 seconds, and then load suddenly.
Normally rock solid connection here - 1300 / 500, 150 ms.
Hopefully it returns soon! |

| I knew I would jinx myself with my last post. I had no EVDO A all day Monday but it is back today. VZW advised they had no trouble reported with the towers in my area but my equipment was fine as I traveled about 20 miles and my laptop/USB720 picked up EVDO just fine. Whatever was wrong has been fixed and EVDO is again available at my house. |
