problems with evdo on motrazr v3m

ello,

I tether my v3m through alltel as my main internet access. its online 24/7just about, and i like the speed, its a nice increase over dial-up. But lately i've noticed somtimes i will connect to EVDO and the phone will say "Calling..." on it and i will stay connected in evdo until i disconnect my usb cable or hit end to cancel to make a call or somthing. now please understand the times when i get that evdo access is rare and i hate to move my phone when i do get it. the rest of the time i connect what seems like 1x (theres 2 little boxes in the top left instead of the DO). however anytime i'm not connected to the internet my phone is always in DO mode.

i'm not sure if the towers around me support evdo or not but since my phone gets those rare connections to the internet in evdo every blue moon, and since my phone is always in DO mode when not connected it seems to point to the towers actually supporting EVDO.

So earlier today i had to move my phone and make a call on it while i was in that EVDO mode. Soon after as much as i tryed and tryed to move my phone around i could never get it back to DO connected. so i was back to 1x and i noticed my speed had decreased quite a bit.
So... pissing around trying to find a way to fix it i found a site that talked about going into test mode and changing the signal to only search for 1x, i thought well maybe i can do this but make it so it only searches for EVDO.
So i went into test mode, and changed my HDR pref to HDR ONLY.
so this gets me to where im at now.
Now when i'm connected i still don't see the DO in the top and sometimes it shows absolutely nothing (which is new) and other times it shows the 2 little boxes like its back in 1x mode.
from recent speed tests i've noticed my upload is actually alot higher than ive ever seen it (around 110) and my download seems to be strong though i'm not sure if its EVDO strong. my last speedtest showed 560 down 110 up.

Could there be a problem with my phone? is there anything i can do, and would it benefit me to switch to a data card or whatever it is instead of using a phone?

still havin problems on my phone and not sure if i should switch to a data device.

Have you tried this in one location or many?

What version of Windows?Mac OS?

The version of PRL on V3m( menu>settings>phone info>other info)

Have you tried windows dial up connection instead of QLM of MPT?

Have you check evdomaps to check type of service available in our area.
