| Quote: | | about the Caddy lease analogy... the sick thing is that the original T&C probably state that they have the right to modify the T&C and give you 30 days to bow out if you don't like the new terms. |
but they didn't make a real effort to inform their customers. A letter should have been sent out. I pay my bill on line. How difficult is it to place an eye catching statement notifying their customers of the impending change.. Like you Sally I stumbled on this yesterday by accident.
The deceit is another part that really annoys me. |

No argument from me there, either.
It sure seems that they should have been able to make adjustments without messing with current contracts.
So what really gives here? Are they trying to get us off the line so they can sell more blackberries and treos with streaming TV? Are we cutting in on the bandwidth available for those devices or something?
All I know is that I don't wanna pay $60 a month for service that is crappier than what I got in 2003. It might have been slower back then, but it was still unlimited (at $80 a month).
Some frickin' fat genius is sitting behind a desk somewhere (with his free internet card in his machine) figuring out that this is the best way to screw over current customers. I really hate that part of this.
At this point, I'm not changing over my 3 phones to Sprint (and I really was going to in August - I think I tripped into this info here while doing some research on new phones)... so they can kiss another $300 a month good bye. And of the three phones, none of them would have been used heavily for data - but I would have paid the $99 a month on each of them under their SE plan.
I wonder what the statistics are in relation to customers that are running connection cards? I wonder how many of us also have multiple voice lines and by putting the squeeze on our data cards, Sprint is also squeezing themselves out of the more profitable phone plans? |

Yes whatever happened to being honorable and sticking to your word. These people have no honor. It is all to do with screwing people as much as they can and as far as the law will allow them. They are the ones who want these awful 2 year contracts. They should stick by them. It is all too one sided for me to stomach. |

Isn't it ironic how you JUST KNOW that at the time we bought the two year contracts, the same fat genius was wringing his hands in delight at knowing he had us over the barrel and locked in for two years, eh?
They're just f'ers. |

Well... I don't know why they don't just change their T&C to forbid P2P... and I would bet that would take the load off.
Heck.. those old Verizon contracts had limitations in them for using it for P2P and streaming video back in the day.... |

| Agreed... I'm just saying cutting back to 5 gig is really outrageous... and I doubt many new suckers that sign up for it really know how little 5 gig is. |

Well... I've been just goofing around with Twitter this morning, cruising some forums, doing light email (no attachments) and I've used 15 Meg this morning in the past 2 hours. No youtube, no iTunes shopping, etc.
So 165 a day is frickin' NOTHING.
I personally would be happy if it were set at about 20 gig, as well. |

How do you know what you have used?
It is easy to do 500k a day which is around 15 meg a month. Which is light use to me |

Someone else on this forum recommended SurplusMeter .. a freebie little app that keeps the stats for me. It has daily usage stats as well as it keeps tabs on your billing month - so you know if you're "over budget" or not.
I set it up just to see if I could live with 5 gig... and to also really see what 5 gig feels like.
For me, it's like putting 20 pounds of potatos in a 5 pound sack.
I'm really hating Sprint for them thinking that providing 5 gig is worth $60. |

Exactly. It is not the service that I bought. Had it been the option then I would have stayed with WildBlue.
I have no intention of changing to 5 gig. None at all. I have never agreed to it. After all it is my money that I am spending here and it is my choice and I won't be bullied into it. |

If they enforce the 5 gig to the point of terminating people, I think the class action will be that Sprint should have to waive the ETFs AND... they should have to buy back the card.
Selling the cards and then later saying you can't use them just isn't cool.
Good grief.. we (as customers) have to make a 2 year commitment ... and I think they (short of terminating contracts because of bankruptcy) should have to as well. |

It happened to me with Verizon and ended up with expensive useless hardware which is still in a box upstairs. I see it happening again. I got 6 months out of this expensive hardware.
Did you read that Sprint is dropping their e-mail service as well now. I stumbled upon that on their web site yesterday. |
