now lets see if i can list all my problems the first time without having to edit my post
i have a Motorola e815 with alltel service and a ctr500
i have been having problems with the phone since i got it so i cannot believe that the ctr500 is at fault
the e815 has crashed on me at random never had a cell phone that crashed before.
the phone crashed windows xp several times so evidently the Motorola drivers don't work so well with that phone
the speed varies wildly by location and is near unusable at highway speeds. alltel recently introduced that 1.1.1.1 thing they claim isn't a proxy and it seems to have broken many of the boinc projects i participate in like seti@home i am unable to upload completed tasks on the alltel connection regardless of if im connected directly to the phone or through the ctr500 though i can still upload it on my wildblue satellite connection so i know its not the project
now that i think of it the only reason i didn't take the phone back the day i got it was because i figured they'd give me something worse |

Hiya Sims
I've been enjoying the e815 usb to Alltel's Axcess Data link Plan ($25..00/mo) since March 2007. I have had few problems, but while the phone was under warranty it was replaced a couple of times.
I've used it all over the state (Michigan) without a problem, but I cannot be on the computer while driving..........
I wonder if you've synced your phone to the nearest tower. Alltel Data Tech Support can walk you through that.
Running on WIN XP Pro while writing this message.
I have no idea of what a ctr500 is. Clue me in, please.
On the other side of the room is a new VISTA laptop on which I will shortly begin the install of the usb drivers. Wish me luck.
Hope this helps, mjh _________________ mjh |

Thanks, Alex
I recall reading your review of this router. Routers right now are not needed on this end. _________________ mjh |

well i didnt exactly need a router but i really really wanted my laptop to stop blue screening every other time the connection dropped
also at my current location i get from 50KBps to 10KBps download while at home i get a nice 220KBps to 190Kbps download (quite a bit of diffrence in the towers) also is their anyway to setup a watchdog service for the ctr500 so every time the modem stops responding (as in still claims to be connected but im not getting any packets) it could restart the router (the ctr500) im thinking batch file as thats what im familiar with |
