I get between -65 to-70 dbm and would like to know if an antenna would help lower my connection and increase my conection. I on average I get 1.2 mb to 1.4 mb down and 400 kbs-600 kbs up load, that's not near the advertised 3.1 down and 1.8 up. What does it take to get those higher speeds? From What I'm reading my signal seems to be pretty good compared to alot of folks, so would an antenna help me get a faster connection?
TY

Trying to improve on that signal will be throwing money away. Your speeds are very good for a tower connection that is fed by a single T1 line. The higher speeds you see from some are because they connect to cell sites that are fed by multiple T1's , usually a high traffic metro area. No one I have seen ever gets the theoretical maximum. _________________ evdo-tips.com |

Like Jim has already said, you're doing really good, and will probably get a bit faster when the leaves fall off the trees in late fall.....I wish I could get that speed in the summer.A few weeks ago my speeds tanked to about half of what I had been getting. |

Ok TY guys for saving me a few bucks.
No leaves in the way, line of site to the sprint tower, it is just over a mile a way. I have a 25ft USB cable running from my router to the Franklin sitting in my back porch window. With the Franklin in my puter room I get in 80-90's dbm connection.
That T1 line that goes to the tower runs right thru my property. I live in the middle of a cornfield with not many choices for an internet connection. I have begged them to let me buy a D Slam and pay them to install it in my yard/pasture, their equipment is about 600 feet from my house. DSL would be nice but they keep telling me no, no, no. grrrrrr
Thanks fellas |

| Orangepeel, same here. Seems like 2 wks ago, my DL speeds tanked. My uploads are sometimes faster than my downloads. There are so many variables, it is mindboggling trying to find out where the issue is. |
