Um150 Registering as Dial Up

When i connect to alltel Ev-do it is registering on my computer as dial up(vista) is there anyway i can fix this or does it matter?

I seem to maybe have a bit more of a slow connection unlike my other computer.

Yea, UM150s work like dial up adapters because seems that a way they connect to the tower even though its broadband.

UM150 also makes a network adapter which I haven't figured out how to get it to use that over dial up.

I was under the impression that EVDO in itself was dial up regardless of the device. Even through routers, they still have to "dial in" to make the connection. Right?

Most people have made "dial up" and "56k" synonymous.
