|

Hi
I just bought another laptop for a friend and it has Vista Home. Her other laptop runs WIN Media Center. She has the Motorola e815 cell phone with Alltel Data Axcess Plan via a tether to her laptop. This works well, and at $25.00/per month, is a bargain.
However, before I open the new computer's box..... is anyone here successfully running the Motorola e815 drivers on Vista Home?
Otherwise, I need to return this computer withing 14 days and find something else.
Thanks

I was able to get my sons Vista Laptops (32bit) to work just fine with the following usb handset driver download.
developer.motorola.com/docstools/USB_Drivers/Handset_USB_Driver/
Hope this helps.
Please post back with your results.
PS There is a 64bit, I think.

Hi
Hopefully today I will get this usb driver for the Motorola e815 installed on Vista. I though I had downloaded the driver last week only to find I had an html page instead
Yes, I will report back and thanks again, mjh _________________ mjh |

Yippee
Good news. I was finally able to download and install the usb driver for Vista and then I installed the software from Alltel that had been running on a WIN XP system for over a year.
All is good. It installed in compatibility mode after a few tries. I am online and writing to you on the Vista system connected via the e815. Thank you VERY much.
A few months ago I had been told that the e815 drivers would not be updated for Vista by my Alltel rep. More recently techs at both Alltel and Motorola could give me no direction! Motorola kept saying I needed updated Phone Tools...... little do they know
So, that's the long and short of it....... you and the EVDO forums to the rescue.
