So I've gone through the whole process of aquiring a U132 CardBus. No thanks to any financial support from my provider, Telus. I have needed one because my laptop currently has an ExpressCard bus, as opposed to PCMCIA. My card can function flawlessly as an internet gateway now, and that's just super.

However, previously, when using Windows XP with a PCMCIA card bus, Telus included software with my KPC650 "Passport Manager". This also included support for text messaging, as well as automatic logging of my data usage. Unfortunately, Passport Manager doesn't work in Vista.

My question: Is there any way to access the text messaging ability of the KPC 650 in Vista, with the U132 adapter? Is there some similar program that supports the functions of Passport Manager?

I'd appreciate any feedback. Smile

Passport Navigator utilizes proprietary software in KPC650 to utilize the SMS feature. VZAccess Manager for KPC650 will run on Vista (I think) but I don't know if it will have issues since it is setup specifically for Verizon. No other software can interface with KPC650 to utilize SMS.

Unfortunately I've tried installing the Passport Navigator for Xp. It runs but it won't identify that the KPC650 is there, and of course, won't work with it at all. It was an excellent application in Xp though. My EVDO provider Telus uses Passport Navigator as well, of course.

That's disappointing and suprising that there are no other applications that utilize SMS with KPC650 in the Vista environment or even third party applications.

I'd sure like to find a version of Passport Navigator issued for Vista users...
