I have used my CTR350 with my Sprint Novatel USB EVDO since last December with no issues, until now. In the last two day it has shutdown or "locked up" four times. These shutdowns only occurred after a few hours during which it was idle.
The only way I can restart it is to turn off the power and turn it back on or reset the device. The modem has power but is not blinking so I am not sure if: the modem is operating and the router is not, the router shut down on its own, or some other situation has occured. I have used the modem connected directly to the PC and it works correctly with no shutdowns. It has all available updates.
The firmware for the unit is 2.2.1 which was updated on 7/2/2008.
Any help would be appreciated. |

| Put me in the same boat. Upgraded a week or more ago and the last 2 days, I have had to power cycle the CTR350 in the morning. Overnight all the computers are shutdown, so it may be due to extended idle times. The router is not accessable at all. It does not provide IP for connecting computers and I set the one up that is connected via ethernet to 192.168.0.10 and could not even ping the router. Nothing in the log out of the ordinary, it checked for software upgrades and time at 2247 last night, just about the time all computes were turned off. Then nothing until I rebooted it this morning. |

Ditto here. I "upgraded" from firmware revision 1.7.0 to 2.2.1 a couple of days ago, mostly to get the RSSI display. I've had to cycle power on the router each morning since then.
The first symptom was having my two desktop machines not get DHCP addresses in the AM. Yesterday I set them to static addresses, but they still can't contact the router in the AM. Router and desktops have static local IPs in the same subnet.
Anyone at Cradlepoint reading this thread? You appear to have a bad bug in your 2.2.1 firmware. |

| If you go back to the version of Firmware you were using prior to 2.2.1 does the problem go away? Not suggesting it as an answer, but it would be interesting to know if that was the case. |

| What modems are you all using? Did you all do a hard factory reset after you upgraded? |

I am using the U727 with service from Sprint. I did not do a factory reset when I upgraded. I had rebuilt the router to my specs after the 2.2 upgrade since it failed to carry forward setting. I upgraded to 2.2.1 and let it carry my settings forward.
I have not tried reverting back to 2.2, since it does not pick up settings and I'm not sure that the settings from 2.2.1 would be backward compatible. |

| You might try saving your config settings, do a hard factory reset (button on the side) and then restore your config settings. |

Modem is Sprint Sierra 595U and I can confirm that the problem occurs when both computers are off even for a short time. I purchased my router from 3GStores several months ago and have successfully update firmware in the past. I also concur with the relationship of IP address mentioned above. _________________ Bob |

Mine is also a 595U. I did not do a pushbutton reset. I'll try it when I get home this evening, and see if I can use the router in the AM.
I'm ready to go back to an earlier firmware rev. But I'm not sure which one. As noted, I upgraded all the way from 1.7.0. I'm not sure I want to go that far back in firmware revs. Any recommendations? |

| My modem is the Spring U727. I downloaded the previous firmware version (2.2.0) and updated it earlier today and the problem seems to have been resolved. |

| I have had similar problems in the last couple of days with my ctr-350. however I upgraded to the latest firmware at least 2 weeks ago with the problem just now showing up. I wonder if vista or something else has installed an update that has caused this. I have searched my security settings in windows and McAfee for any clues to no avail. |

| I also had installed the upgrade more than a week before the issues started. I'm running XP SP3, so I don't think it is Vista related. I did a factory reset and reloaded my config. I'll post in the morning the results. |

| The router was not locked up this morning after the factory reset yesterday, but had a different problem. I could not get to the internet. The computers connected to the router and got an IP, but could not get to any web site. I tried a few pings by name and DNS was working since it pulled back the IP for the site, but timed out. I rebooted the router from it's interface and then everything worked fine. Since I use the netowrk all day for my job, I guess I will have to wait until tomorrow to see if the problem comes back or if it was a one time thing. |

| I don't suppose you noticed the status of the modem or if there was anything in the log? |
